Who we are

Zulucom is primarily an ISP and hosting provider, while offering a few other specialist IT services. We resell internet access for Internet Solutions and Verizon Business, two of the three tier 1 ISPs in SA. We also operate a dedicated hosting server located in Cape Town, SA's prime hosting location. Hosting locally we are able to provide our clients fast, reliable and cost-effective e-mail and web hosting. Finally we offer specialist services like data recovery from hard drives and notebook repairs.

Zulucom is based in Empangeni, Zululand, and is owned and operated by Chris King ably assisted by Shelley King. Justin Whittaker of Web Energy operates from our offices - he manages our server and assists with support calls as needed.

Our history

Chris and Evan King launched Zulucom late 1996 primarily as a website design and hosting service. Seeing the need for e-mail and networking services Zulucom grew into IT support early in 1998 and by 2000 had expanded into the ISP market, offering both leased-line and dial-up ISP services. The introduction of ADSL saw the market change and Zulucom moved out of the leased line market to became a reseller of ISP services for IS and Verizon. Website design was outsourced mid 2004 and technical support outsourced mid 2007, leaving Chris and Shelley to operate a leaner operation focussing on ISP and hosting services.

• Hosting; This includes website and e-mail services.
• ISP; Internet access, including dial-up and ADSL services.
• Sales; Mainly specialist items and printer consumables.
• Consultancy; general SMME and home user IT advice.
• Services; Specialist services including data recovery and notebook repairs

Based in Empangeni, Zulucom focusses primarily on the greater Zululand region and we intend to stay with this formula for the foreseeable future.
